The scene is a pub near Lansdowne Road after our match and before the International kick off. Round is 7 Guinness and that well known Accountant Jiff Trippas is in the chair. Gives the bar lass a 20 punt note and gets thanks but no change. Jiff comes and sits down but is plainly worried and starts to get agitated, muttering to himself and playing with his fingers. Eventually he says 20 doesn’t divide by 7 and in high dudgeon storms back to the bar to demand change. The colleen’s disdainful response: “Sure it was 20.02 but I let you off the 2 pence.”
